Bit.Trip FLUX review – Extra Guy
Extra Guy: The saga of Commander Video has come to a close, and I guess I should be sad. We shared an incredible journey across six games now and may never do so again, but I can’t help but smile. The series that put Gaijin Games on the map is finished, but their future looks brighter than ever. Bit.Trip FLUX is a funeral, but this death is cause for celebration.
FLUX is the sixth and supposedly final entry in the Bit.Trip series. It comes full circle in terms of gameplay by bringing us back to the one-sided Pong formula found in Bit.Trip BEAT. The concept is simple: bounce the “beats” that come from the left with your paddle, which is controlled with a sideways Wii remote. Tilting it forward moves it up while tilting it back brings it down. Gaijin has learned a few things since their first game, however, and the result is a more accessible game with a higher ceiling for the experienced.
