Resolution: PES2011 review
Resolution's Chris Schilling writes: In past years, the two biggest football games on the market have always competed for total soccer supremacy but these days they represent very different approaches to the beautiful game. FIFA 2011 is probably the perfect digital recreation of Premier League football. It has the glitz and glamour, the money, the classy (if occasionally gaudy) Sky Sports-esque presentation, and the high-tempo, high-pressure football. Konami’s rival, by comparison, is aiming for the slower-paced, free-flowing elegance of La Liga, but in recent years has hit Serie A instead – a formerly high-class league now a shadow of its former self, with attendances dwindling and the football no longer as watchable as it used to be. This version is closer to the tiki-taka dream than it’s been for a long time, but it still feels like a bit of a work-in-progress, a mid-table scrapper rather than a title contender.
