Game Interface Preview: Dead Space 2 Multiplayer Beta (PS3)

EA released the original Dead Space on October 14, 2008 with almost universal positive acclaim from critics and consumers. A survival horror game with an engrossing story and environment, many clamored for a sequel and very few expected a multiplayer mode. Dead Space 2 is slated to hit shelves in 2011, but a closed beta for the multiplayer is currently ongoing on the Playstation Network. Survival horror games are generally known for their single player and cooperative campaign modes, while vehemently avoiding truly competitive multiplayer modes due to the difficulty of creating suspense. Visceral Games and EA are offering competitive players an outlet to extend the life of Dead Space 2 beyond that of the single player mode.
