Death and Video Games
Okay, so, as any gamer knows, death has been in just about every video game ever, in some way shape or form. For the older gamers out there, perhaps you remember being eaten by ghosts as a small yellow head (Pacman), or all the times your space ship was destroyed by debris (Asteroids) or alien ships (Space Invaders). Yeah, you died a lot. Even kid games or family friendly classics involve the main character falling into lava or being smashed by falling rocks a lot of times (…Mario you slowpokes!). So, given the prevalence of death in video games, here’s a question: why is it still so boring?
