DEN writes: "I find it very interesting that Sega just doesn’t know what to do with its mascot. On the one hand, the company keeps releasing repackaged versions of the characters early 2D exploits because those are the games that fans want. On the other hand, there are a number of horrible new games bearing the hedgehog with any number of different "adventure" elements that just don’t work. There are elements and levels in some of the newer Sonic games that evoke what it is about the character that connects with gamers, but those are often too few and far between."
