When it first entered the ring, there was little competition for the Tony Hawk series. For a while it was training alone, boxing shadows, waiting for a true challenge. One by one, opponents would enter, take a jab, and get knocked out in the first round. Nothing stood a chance, and as time went on, it looked like nothing ever would. Year after year more opponents would line up, doing little besides adding to Hawk’s perfect record. Until Skate. When Skate came along, no one was quite sure how Hawk would react. Skate’s entry came right after a revamp in Hawk’s training, which gave him better control over his punches and a brand new physique, and most assumed the fight would be as short as all of the ones before it. Jaws hit the floor only moments after Hawk did, and the new World Champion was named. There was a rematch shortly after, and the fight was an impressive one, but it ended the same as the last. One final bout took place, ending with Hawk throwing a haymaker that connected with his own face. The bell rang, and it was over."
