Indie developers started a few days ago a war against Tim Langdell, the man who owns the trademark of the word "Edge", and uses it at the edge of legality to make some easy money. As recent as it may seem, the roots of this problem can be found in 1979. This article goes back in time to unveil the story of the trademark that caused Soul Edge to be called Soul Blade (and later Soul Calibur), Mirror’s Edge to be in danger and made Langdell earn money with a company that has not made a game since 1994.
