Holiday Preview Round Up + Bonus!

With the heated Holiday season just around the corner, I’ve decided to compile a list of some of our previews of this fall (and extending in to next year)’s hottest games. Also, while there wasn’t enough to write a full preview of Band Hero, you can check out my "mini-preview" after the jump.

Band Hero:

This game basically plays exactly like Guitar Hero 5, including it’s party modes. This means you can have 4 people all playing the same instrument. There is also a no fail mode, tailored to making the game fun for everyone; so if you just want to jam, no need to worry about your skills. The obvious difference between Band Hero and Guitar Hero is that Band Hero is more so "Top 40 Hits", trying to appeal to a larger audience. I don’t know about you, but while I love playing Guitar Hero, there are times where I’ve thought about how fun it would be to jam out with some of my favorite pop songs.

Band Hero also features an E10+ rating, so it can, and is meant to be enjoyed by the whole family. The game plays no differently than Guitar Hero 5, so if you either skipped over it (because you aren’t a huge fan of rock), or really enjoyed all of it’s features, then Band Hero is probably the way to go. It should also be mentioned that Taylor Swift is a playable character in this game, and you can even play 3 of her songs, if you’re interested that is.

While it doesn’t differ too much from what has already been done, it doesn’t really affect anything. The main reason you’ll buy this game is for the type of songs available. Maybe you always wanted to jam with your friends or family, but just don’t like rock music….well now is your time to shine!
