"Digger was an unashamed rip off of several arcade classics from the early 80s, borrowing a smidgeon of Dig Dug, a squirt of Mr Do and a little taste of Space Panic fused with Amidar. Original developers Windmill Software were responsible for a whole slew of arcade lookey-likeys and Digger was no exception.
The central game mechanic is simple. Control a tiny earth moving digger to plough around underground, collecting gems and avoiding various sub-surface dwellers who want to turn you into a pile of scrap. You have a tiny cannon on your digger, but you can also drop buried coin bags onto enemies as they follow you around the subterranean tunnels, dropping back later on to hoover up the spilled gold from those same bags."
