Before Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy, there was Phantasy Star. In the late 80’s and early 90’s, RPG aficionados regarded Phantasy Star as the cream of the crop in the genre. The amount of detail and attention paid to the story and to its characters, in particular, was something that hadn’t been seen by the gaming community at that time. SEGA took advantage of the Master System’s visual and video capabilities to create an immersive experience as we followed Alis and her companions as they tried to bring the evil Lassic and the forces standing behind him in a quest so big they needed three planets to make it complete.
