Connecting with… Eric Lempel, Sony’s PlayStation Network

Since launching in July 2008, the PlayStation Network has been steadily growing its video service, delivering more than 250 million pieces of game, movie, TV and other content through the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Portable to 12.5 million registered users in North America. Most of those were game downloads, but video sales also are up, and unlike many other digital services, 70% were higher-priced permanent movie downloads rather than rentals. Eric Lempel, director of PlayStation Network operations and strategic planning at Sony Computer Entertainment America, spoke with Video Business’ Jennifer Netherby
