Batman: Arkham Revealed Nightwing’s Robin Origins In The Weirdest Way
As cool as it might have been to play as both Batman and the original Robin in the groundbreaking Batman: Arkham games, the way Rocksteady and WB Games Montréal introduced the character in both his iconic personas was strange to say the least. From debuting Nightwing as a voiceless side character in Arkham City to revealing his past as Robin in Arkham Origins’ under-appreciated multiplayer, it seems that Dick was included as an afterthought for his first Arkham appearances.
In contrast, his Robin successors Jason Todd and Tim Drake were given much more attention when they were brought into the Arkham universe – with the former being the titular antagonist of Arkham Knight before assuming his comic identity of Red Hood.
Considering how important, famous, and popular Dick Grayson is to DC fans as both the original Robin and his independent career as Nightwing, it still remains a riddle for the ages why the developers took such a bizarrely subtle approach to bringing him into the beloved Batman: Arkham series.
