Rockstar to Spawn New Take-Two Dev House

UGO writes: "Lots of news to report from Rockstar Games and the front for their operations, Take-Two Interactive. In a press release issued yesterday, it was announced that Take-Two signed gaming’s urban-themed Mario Bros. Sam and Dan Houser along with Leslie Benzies and "several other key members of the creative team behind… the Grand Theft Auto series" to a contract which will keep them all with Take-Two until January 31, 2012. This should come as no surprise to anyone familiar with GTA IV’s monumental success, not to mention those that came before it.

"In related news, MCV, UK reported after yesterday’s scheduled Take-Two investor’s conference call that the company’s flagship urban sandbox took in $710 million during 2008, accounting for roughly 60% of the publisher’s sales for the year. Not exactly surprising, but still… wow. Way to go guys.
