A ‘Deadpool’ Skeptic Dissects ‘Deadpool 2’

It’s never exactly fun to be on the outside looking in at a cinematic phenomenon, but such is the case for me with Deadpool. When the gleefully R-rated superhero movie opened in the spring of 2016, it was a hit with most audiences and critics, whether or not they were familiar with the so-called “Merc With a mouth” from Marvel Comics before he got his own solo feature. When I watched the film on Blu-ray a few months after its release, I had as strong of a reaction as fans did, just in the opposite direction.
