Oscars Board Expels Harvey Weinstein

As allegations continue to mount against Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein, it’s now been confirmed that the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) – the organization behind the Oscars – has followed BAFTA in Britain by expelling him from their organization.

In a statement from The Academy, it confirmed that its board “voted well in excess of the required two-thirds majority” to expel him.
