Will the Switch Smartphone App Allow Tethering for Online Multiplayer?

Nintendo's site lists that the Switch is capable of internet via Bluetooth. Switchcore questions whether Nintendo's upcoming mobile app, designed to allow Switch users to connect their service for online play, will allow users to tether their Switch to their mobile devices for online gaming on the go.
