N4G V2 Beta Testing Round Two

Looks like we gave many of you a big scare when you tried the new site. We are rolling out this update in several stages and we wanted to first test for bugs and a new front page also. In this update we are testing the new customization feature. With mobile, tablets, and the big range of screen resolutions there is no longer a “one size fits all” layout. So we are adding a wide range of options (including the much loved list view). To do this click on the CUSTOMIZE menu right under submit.

We have added some signs to the stories when viewed in Featured mode. This should make it easier to understand what is going on. The idea behind it is that stories that gain momentum will be able to build on it and be visible more quickly. On today’s site many stories that would have become hot are pushed off the front page before they are able to get traction. You can of course set it to latest if you don't like this algo.
