Doom Alpha kicks off this Friday

Player One writes: "This weekend will be your first chance to play the long awaited Doom from id Software. Bethesda confirmed that the alpha session will be available for a select few players who have signed up, and it will be used to test the game’s dedicated server infrastructure in a real-world environment. It seems that codes have already started to arrive in the participants’ e-mail inboxes, so if you didn’t already receive one, chances are you might have not made the cut for this session."
