My First MMO
Other than a short stint on Runescape in the fifth grade, I had never before played an MMO. I’ve never had a gaming PC, so that in and of itself kept me from playing MMO’s that looked interesting over the years, but I’ve also tended away from multiplayer games because I usually play games for their stories. However, recently Final Fantasy XIV was on sale on the PSN for only $10, I had a $10 PSN voucher, and I had heard good things about it from some people I trust on Twitter. These three things converged for me to buy and begin playing my first real MMO. And it’s been interesting. I’d always chalked MMO’s up as things that just weren’t for me, so it has come as a bit of a surprise that I’m genuinely enjoying it, despite some major issues I have with the design.
