"Safe" is possibly the least impressive Firefly episode, but I still enjoyed the focus on Simon and River. I just didn't buy the witch burning element at the end. I get that it was meant to drive home the point that River, as she is, can't easily exist now in the world (even in the middle of nowhere) and needs the shelter of Serenity, but I couldn't swallow that type of superstition existing in the future. No matter the show's genre mashups.
