Kickstarter has, in many ways, made our dreams come true. It has become an excellent tool for video game developers to satisfy our gaming needs. Whether if it’s by reviving forgotten games or by creating new intellectual properties, Kickstarter has shown that the many voices of gamers are being heard. Games like Broken Age, Mighty NO. 9, The Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey, and even devices like the Oculus Rift, have shown that crowdfunding works. With Shenmue 3 on the horizon and already breaking a record for most crowd funded video game, it is time to set higher expectations for kickstarter.
