Alone in the Dark’s gameplay seems like a leap back a few generations. The character moves awkwardly, if you’re in a third person view the camera fights you and that will get you killed if you’re around a crowd of enemies, etc. But it’s not all horrible: the inventory system works extremely well and the concept of killing enemies with only fire, while a bit tedious in execution, is an interesting thought. Also, the ability of combining items gives you another layer of gameplay, and it was quite fun seeing what I could combine.
