1UP Review: Schizoid

"I don’t like to be a backseat game designer, but the entire time I spent with Schizoid, I kept thinking, "If only this were different…it would’ve been so much better." Touted as "the most co-op game ever" — an incredibly deceiving statement, as it should be something closer to "the most unfriendly solo game ever" — Schizoid has a lot to live up to. It’s certainly different, but not for its outstanding co-op play. It may look a helluva lot like Geometry Wars, but you don’t do any shooting in Schizoid. Instead, players operate a blue or orange ship (or both, depending on the mode) that can kill similarly colored enemies by running into them — but loses a life if it hits a different color. This basic setup is used in conjunction with an array of different enemies and scenarios to create over 100 levels…that all too often feel like rehashes of earlier stages."
