Most shooters have basic mechanics which are easy to understand, as well as more difficult elements which allow skilled players to separate themselves from the rest. Due to the rise of Call of Duty, shooters also now attempt to offer explosive single player experiences that make us feel strong and powerful. 2014 has been a year full of first person shooters. From more single player experiences like Wolfenstein: The New Order and Far Cry 4, to multiplayer centric titles like Titanfall and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, there was a slice of the genre for everyone this year. However, it was not same old, same old. We saw plenty of change and development in the shooter genre this year, even from sequels."
