Playstation Share Play: It’s Terrible
Why can’t the rest of the party see the game screen? In an era where people can go to YouTube and see thousands of hours of gameplay for free, for some reason watching it live from your friend is a problem? Is Sony afraid of the Share Play service competing with the natively-supported Twitch streaming on PS4? If that’s the case, then limiting the party to just eight people should be enough to separate it from Twitch.
Limited Share Play time is unsurprising, but the fact that “you can start a new session immediately after the one expires” is perplexing. Why even have the one hour limit then? If a friend and I are tearing it up in Towerfall: Ascension and want to keep going, then Sony says that it’s okay to continue that streak immediately after the hour’s up? 'I' don’t see the advantage, for either Sony or the player, in that situation.
