A bloodbath in central Tokyo is likely to leave lasting scars in the hub of Japan’s self-proclaimed nerds, who have created a subculture of comics and video games that shields them from the real world.
The assailant who stabbed to death seven people on Sunday picked one of Tokyo’s most unique neighbourhoods, Akihabara, a hub of stores offering electronics and Japan’s most esoteric comic books and DVDs.
