What Flappy Bird Reveals
In the end, the Flappy Bird situation illustrates much more than racism and capitalism. It shows us again that Kotaku is a conniving publication, that hard games can make us unreasonably angry, that social justice warriors ignore the whole picture, and that Twitter allows — encourages! — immoral behavior with no consequences. It also shows us that Nguyen is shaping up to be another Kurt Cobain. I say this as a boy who grew up in a poor working family: the guy can cry me an ocean for making an addictive game. Curse him and his damn pipes!
