Flashback Friday: “Batman Beyond”
nyway, on to the actual episode, “Rebirth Part 1.” It begins with an elderly Bruce Wayne, in a new high-tech Batman suit, beating the hell out of a ring of kidnappers. One of them gets the upper hand, and Bruce is about to betray one of his principles by using a gun. The animation in this moment is superb – we see not only guilt, but actual terror and rage in Bruce’s eyes. This is his lowest moment, and if he goes through with shooting the kidnapper, there’s no going back.
