Nintendo dates SSBB, WiiWare for Europe
After Super Smash Bros. Brawl made its stateside debut last month, European Nintendo fans were left wondering when they, too, would be able to battle it out with the publisher’s mascot. Well, wonder no more…the popular fighting franchise, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, will be tackling Wii consoles across the continent from June 27.
Nintendo’s WiiWare channel will also be making a European debut on May 20, which is 12 days after its US release. WiiWare will offer downloads of original first- and third-party games to Wii consoles. In the same manner as Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network, it is intended to allow smaller, independent developers access to the console’s growing installed base. WiiWare launched in Japan on March 25. Launching just 10 days after WiiWare is the Nintendo Channel, which will allow owners to download DS games to their Wii, and will work in conjunction with WiiWare.
