PS4 Indie program censors developers

At Sonys recent Playstation Developer Open Day in London, it was revealed what content restrictions would be placed upon content put out on the platform. And while Sony is willing to adopt a very open policy for indie games it seems weary of standing behind them if they have important statements to make such as "Imagination Is the Only Escape" or "Super Columbine Massacre RPG", and while it's understandable that Sony would want to protect itself fro lawsuits by not offering controversial games. One can't help but wonder if taking away an indies voice to speak out against atrocities in a video game is too much censorship.
