Zach Braff and Kickstarter: Exploitative or brilliant?

Zach Braff is supposedly worth $22 million. And now he wants your money.

After the success of Veronica Mars’s campaign, it was only a matter of time until those more established took a stab at Kickstarter. The site, which launched in 2009, aims to raise money for projects through ‘crowd-funding’. In other words, members of the public donate money to projects they like and to those who usually have no other means of funding. Last week came news that Scrubs alum Zach Braff was to use the donation-based site, a decision that was met with mixed feelings of both encouragement and criticism.
