Things on Wheels coming to XBLA

Mad Tracks developer Load Inc. will be bringing their next title, Things on Wheels, to XBLA this summer. The game will put players in the driver’s seat of a remote controlled car as they race around a gigantic house. Perhaps more open ended gameplay is just what this game needs to make it stand out from the pack unlike its predecessor.,

"A key innovation for Things On Wheels is its non-linear track design. Moving from room to room within an expansive virtual house, courses are constructed from routes that incorporate everyday items as hazards and obstacles. It’s entirely possible that a championship could be won by taking the right path around a set of table legs, or cruelly lost by failing to avoid the searing heat of an electric heater. With huge scope for a variety of wildly entertaining courses, developers Load Inc. are promising to infuse Things On Wheels with as much radio-controlled racing mayhem as possible."

Considering that a lack of content was one of the major drawbacks to Mad Tracks, Load Inc might be onto something with Things on Wheels. Even so, the game seems like less of an all new game and much more like a retread of their previous title. Hopefully an open ended version of Mad Tracks will fare a little better among the stiff competition on XBLA.
