A Virtually Amazing Experience

During QuakeCon 2012 a company named Oculus showed up with their product called Rift which is a virtual reality headset with high resolution, large field of view, and low latency. Oculus teamed up with id Software's John Carmack to bring some software to the VR Headset and thus put Doom 3 BFG Edition as the first playable game. This article details Palmer Luckey (creator), Oculus, the panel at QuakeCon over this new tech, and my personal experience through the demo shown at QuakeCon.
