Personally, I prefer UDK. Unity is a great engine, but the cost to entry is just so high, it's hard for any start up developer to get into.

Isn't it only like 5000? Me and a team I've been working with have been using the free version for a game but we'll be getting the license soon to put our game on steam. We got a demo up and running in 16 weeks. Not sure if i'm allowed to post this but..

$5000 is a lot, when UDK's start up is free and only $100 when you want to sell. Your game looks pretty interesting. Here's mine with UDK:

Have either of you guys played around with XNA at all? Invested a few hours into it. The compiler is brilliant - I made a basic 2D platform game that any modern device could run, and it was litterally one click to convert from 360 format to PC.

Took around 4 mins to build the new version with no input from me.

$100? Wow lol. And your game looks fun too. How big of a team are you working with?

Yeah. It's cheap. The only down side to UDK when compared to Unity, is that UDK is PC, Mac and iOS--where as Unity also has Android and now Flash support.

Thank you! That means a lot :D Surprisingly, it's only me. lol. I 3d modelled, designed and programmed everything you see. I've been working on this game for about 7-8 months, and I also plan on heading to Steam like you. ^__^

and I'm also considering an iPhone port of the game.

Well that's amazing. Wish I could model and animate lol. But yea UDK is pretty nice but if it can't do Android we can't use it. We're starting on steam but we kept our models low poly because we plan on releasing on android as well. And then eventually psn/xbla if people like it. Good luck with your project!
