Exactly, I saw '3 hours, 14 comments' and knew Nintendo was chilling at the top again! LMAO
3DS FTW! Monster Hunter in December will have 3DS sales so high. Mario will go worldwide in November then December and make Nintendo headlines all positive again after christmas. Skyward Sword will boost Wii sales this christmas worlwide bigtime at $149.
It should be number 1 because the device is relatively new. But judging by the numbers it might not have long legs like other Nintendo portables. It wont outsell the original DS. And Vita is going to be the king this gen in portables IMO
And expect sellouts for the Vita as well. My bad I take it back Vita wont be the sales king this gen. I've always said cheap wins over everything. With the 3ds being like 75 dollars cheaper it will probably outsell the vita WW. But the Vita is the better device obviously
Sure, the 3DS had kept pace with the old DS sales, but there are a couple of notable differences. Nintendo is hemorrhaging cash, badly. The portable market was their primary source of revenue for so many years. Now the company stock has lost 50% this year along, Nintendo cut their earnings forecast to a 27 year low and Nintendo execs are slashing their own paychecks up to 50% and publicly apologizing for under performing after a massive price cut in a relatively short period of time for the 3DS.
Company's that are doing alright with a strong product offering they're not worried about don't cut their own salaries by up to 50% while slashing their annual forecasts to 27 year lows. All this while there are reports that developers are choosing a wait and see approach to putting their weight behind the 3ds. You can compare these numbers to the DS all you want, but Nintendo and it's investors are scared shitless.
They won't duplicate the success of the Wii with the Wii-U, and the mobile marketplace is vastly different then it's been the past decade with the surge in smartphone use. They're in trouble. If you don't believe it, pull your head out of the sand and just look at Nintendo's own forecasts.
Yes according to there most recent forecast the 3ds has exceeded expectations.
Very few developers are taking the wait and see approach and what far outweighs them is the development support other companies are giving over what they did for the ds.
3DS has been selling good since launch, and the price drop helped pick the sales up considerably, but I wasn't talking about 3DS was I ? Wii in the other hand is a fad, people realized that and sales are slumping, I described it's sales as pathetic because it is the cheapest system and has been so cheap for so long now and yet sells less than the 360 and PS3.
market saturation fella. There's how many Wii's sold? and how many 360 or PS3? How long did you expect them to keep outselling everything once they hit the 85+ million mark? and besides, they're still well over 30 million ahead of the closest competitor, so they're pretty safe.
If Nintendo is smart, they'll keep Wii around with the WiiU, and I think they will, because the WiiU still uses Wiimotes, and the DS is still getting DSiware and games, even with the 3DS here.

Thats right you dont.
The 3ds has kept pace with ds 6 month sales, even though the ds was 100 dollars cheaper and had a holiday.
During the 3ds's first holiday expect massive sellouts in japan even with the vita launching.

And fyi the stock price is increasing.
Haters suck
