Unreal Tournament 3: Pro-G Hands-on (PS3 Version)

Pro-G writes:

"PS3 owners are starved of high-quality FPS games at the moment. Apart from launch game Resistance: Fall of Man, which we thoroughly enjoyed, and the recently released Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, which we enjoyed even more, there's not much to write home about. But developer Epic is aiming to change all that with its PS3 port of classic sci-fi FPS Unreal Tournament 3, which will, for a time at least, be a console exclusive."

"Will UT3 be the PS3's Halo killer? To be fair, UT3 has never been billed as such a thing. Will it be as good as Call of Duty 4 online? We'll reserve judgement for the review. But my first impression is that what makes UT different - the speed and intensity of the action - has been shackled, resulting in an experience that feels like it's deliberately holding something back. The game looks like being a wonderfully realised port, one that further reinforces the view that the PS3 will have a much better time of it in 2008."

The story is too old to be commented.

... at the moment... In no rush to try this at all yet...

EDIT

How can someone disagree with the fact that i'm enjoying COD4? Go crawl back in your hole!!!

Keowrath3564d ago

This is N4G, people can disagree with what you had for breakfast!

... I await my disagrees...

Bordel_19003564d ago

I fully understand ppl that disagree on this: " In no rush to try this at all yet... " .. you talking about UT3 on PS3.

PimpHandHappy3564d ago

SDFm3rc3564d ago

but the sixaxis pad is killing me!!

how teh 4uck does SONY expect REAL gamers to play games with these s#itty pads???

When I press either L2 or R2, it feels like my hands have been sweating for days!!!

I think I'll either get UT3 for my top-grade PC (the platform it's meant to be played on) or I might even trade in my PS3 for an ELITE.

4UCK THIS!!!

Keowrath3564d ago

OR!... You could buy a keyboard and mouse for your PS3 and play it as you say "How it's meant to be played"

anh_duong3564d ago (Edited 3564d ago )

you know you can play keyboard and mouse with this.. the ps3 version SO FAR is the only CONSOLE version that epic says with support K&M and mods (user maps).. but if you really want the xbox 360 version then go ahead and buy it.. no one is going to stop you..

SDFm3rc3564d ago (Edited 3564d ago )

The Xbox 360 has a proven track record with UE3, plus I hear the Xbox Live network is much better than the PSN. UE3 games on the PS3 (apart from stranglehold locked @ 30fps) like COD3 run S#itty. whilst on my PC, I can tap this baby up to 120 FPS (the way REAL gamers play it).

anh_duong3564d ago (Edited 3564d ago )

so like i said go and buy the xbox 360 version if you want to.. no one going to stop you.. btw i didn't disagree with you (just looking at your comments i don't really need to) but i bet you disagreed with me even though i actually stated a fact.

Keowrath3564d ago (Edited 3564d ago )

Oh, I'm sorry. I mistook you for a gamer and not a fanboy. I just checked out your previous messages... You're a Sony hater.

Carry on...

TheHater3564d ago

I really don't think anyone care what system you get this game for. I personally Play this game on my PC and love it. But I am getting it for the ps3 because not everyone I know have an High tech pc to play this game. So I will play with them on the ps3 because that what they are getting it for.

Dude, why bother commenting when you just end up answering your own question. If you're not going to bother with the PS3 version, don't comment here in this article and waste the site bandwidth. PS, COD3 is a horrible example to post here; it was a terrible port on the PS3. UT:III on the PS3 has been receiving nothing but praise, with some sites labeling it a worthy competitor to the PC version for what it offers technologically.
