Windows 7 breaks Amazon records

v3.co.uk writes:

"Windows 7 has overtaken Harry Potter novels and the Nintendo Wii to become the biggest grossing pre-order product of all time in the UK, according to e-commerce giant Amazon.

In an announcement which will be music to Microsoft's ears, Amazon.co.uk declared that the new operating system sold more pre-order copies in the first eight hours of its release than Vista did in its entire pre-order period." (PC, Tech, Windows 7)

running windows 7 ultimate 64-bit.

I've not run into a single issue. I've not had a single issue running any game that I own. I was left extremely happy due to the fact that no matter what I tried on xp I couldn't force off v-sync on Arma2.

I'm no longer having that issue and runnin a buttery smooth 60fps Arma2 on windows 7.

If you have Vista - I recommend you upgrade. This is much better for gaming and will increase your fps by at least 10 - 20%.

i'm running vista ultimate 64bit, are you being serious though, are you sure you didnt get a new pc that had win7 on it???, because all the reviewers said that there were almost no gains in gaming, and that only the OS level use was faster. i need some serious gaming benchmarks, now that it's out it won't be long

Win7 is awesome, and it comes with DirectX 11, its good for gamimg

7 is faster than Vista, but it's not a huge difference. It's about on par with XP in game performance.
Nihilism  +   2105d ago
you've been readin to much marketing crap, windows vista will also support dx11 through an update, dx11 is backwards compatible with vista, not like how xp couldn't support dx10, win7/win vista architecture is almost identical
