Bizarre Creations sends over a new fact sheet from Project Gotham Racing 4, they even include a jaw dropping new teaser trailer that shows off the rain effects in the game. AMAZING, well worth the video download folks.
Now THAT is what I call a next gen racer.
dammit.. how do you see the video Thanks for the tip.. yeah it looks pretty sweet.. nice detail in the rain. other nice touches i noticed, the windshield wipers and the bystander animations, looking pretty good.

Wow this looks so much better than Forza 2 demo. But i do hope F2 final game is more polished in terms of graphics.
looks freaking amazing. can't wait. another must have.
Now thats what I'm talking about and to think it's only going to get better!
I really hope they show this off at E3!
The rain effects looked nothing more than ok. I was especially displeased with the level of water particle effects that trailed the cars when they were hurtling down the track. As for the scenes where the cars are stationary I couldn't see any rain actually hitting the car. Obviously its still early days but I still reckon that Rallisport Challenge 2 features the best racing weather effects we've seen on any Xbox. That game really made you feel like you were driving in some real nasty conditions!
It's still early and I'm sure the game will improve drastically! I myself really hope that they are making a Rallisport 360 because like you said that game really put you in the dirt unlike any game i've ever seen!
GT can kiss PGR4's rainy @ss...
COMMON make some games that make 360 look a little good compared to GT5!
looks like ass compared to forza and pgr, but hey, that's my opinion.
I agree with #9.1 I have yet to see gameplay on any next gen console that looks like Forza 2, PGR will blow everything out of the water because of the 360's graphical capabilities and the fact it's arcade-ish in nature meaning they have plenty to work with graphicly as they always have done. 1st pic F2, 2nd pic GTHD, 3rd pic F2, i play GTHD at my brothers the "opinion" you heard in that post eariler thsi morning was just dudes opinion and my opinion from playing both demos GTHD falls short to Forza 2(gameplay, graphics and much more).
you 2 just look at GT HD comparisons with forza there better. I played the forza 2 demo at my mates it falls short of the GT HD demo.
I have, and it's a tech demo, I think it looks okay, but I still think forza looks better.
POG ul find every review site say that GTHD looks better. ANd Forza 2 has been said to look no better than PGR3...so stop spitting.
though in some way car models could be better, perhaps it`s limited due hardware.. anyway that looks more nextgen then forza 2.
I loved PGR3 .. and I will get PGR4 for sure.. but plz dont say BS .. Forza has last gen graphics and new gameplay.. I didnt even play demo .. but I saw many HD clips ( about 600MB ) from Gametrailers.com .. Forza cant compete with GT or PGR.. and about GT and PGR.. I think lighting and polygons is better in GT .. the rain effect is a simple trik in PGR engine and it isn NEW.. the Tire details sux in these screens ( u can see comprasion vs GT ) but level of polygons is awesome in some areas... anyway they must polish it more .and Im sure these screens arent even beta version. and after seeing them I cant say its AMAZING its just ok..
but I disagree with you, I think gt is the last gen game, no damage(we want it perfect, what a comp out, they understand they have to do twice the amount of work for that to happen) a decent physics system(looks I can swing off a gard rail and go faster!). The only thing that's next gen about gt is it's car models, if thats all you want from a racing game is some 300(i say 300 because the bloated car list contains the same models for different cars with different dates) very nice car models enjoy. Forza is far more next gen, it's got far more customization, more that 4000 levels of decals can be applied to a car, the drivatar system, the photomode, the community connection(the forza 2 webisite, sharing movies, photos etc), auction houses, and much more. Just because something looks good doesn't make it next gen for example lbp, just a more user friendly garry's mode, nothing graphically amazing but it's still innovative and more next gen than anything.
Doesn't actually make for a better game, let alone a better looking game. While having a decal system is nice, it's nothing that Need for Speed hasn't achieved.
(I could literally count the number of edges on the cameraman's head). However, I really love the procedural water droplet effects that the put on the cars, and the lighting system is definitely superior to Forza Motorsport. I can still see polygon edges in specific places such as the headlights, but I assume that's simply due to system limitations, not artistic ability. Now the one thing I did like is that the crowds react in fear to close calls, and that's something that I haven't seen much of in other racers. Usually, the bystanders stand in place and follow where the vehicles are (which is boring).
You can find HD screenshots and a 720p video here: http://www.xboxyde.com/news... Edit: Wow @ DJ. Just wow.
...is it gonna suck @$$ like Project Gotham 3, or is it gonna be as fun to play as Project Gotham 2 was? I like Metropolis Street Racer, I liked Progect Gotham Raceing, I loved PGR 2, and hated PGR 3
