Push Square: "Forza Horizon 5 might be a few years old, but its vast amount of activities, robust feature set, and superb driving model mean it's still out in front. It isn't perfect — it can feel bloated and overwhelming, the AI is frustrating at times, and the characters and dialogue are a constant weakness. However, behind the wheel, tackling its myriad events and exploring the beautiful open world, it's hard to not be convinced by its optimistic personality and sense of fun. Despite its late arrival on PS5, it still feels showroom fresh."
It’s time to see which PS5, PS4, PS VR2, and free-to-play games topped the PlayStation Store download charts last month.
April saw a lot of action among the top spots. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and Forza Horizon 5 broke into the top three for the U.S. and EU PS5 charts, while Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate dominated the PS VR2 charts across the board.
Xbox reigns supreme at Playstation!
I wonder what was the reaction from Sony´s first party investors to those numbers and what they plan to do next.
I know expedition 33 is up there but it honestly deserves to be #1 on all platform. Game is fantastic
The top 3 games are Microsoft published titles. Looks like they had a good month. I don't follow Minecraft but how can that game be selling so well for over a decade?
I need to check out Wanderer for PSVR2. how come there's almost no marketing for this game?
Gamesradar:
Almost four years on from its original launch on Xbox Series X, I'm reliving the opening of Forza Horizon 5 on PS5.
The gloriously over-the-top introduction to Playground Games' open-world racing adventure is just as entertaining as it ever was, but there's one marked difference that steps things up a gear.
After jettisoning out of the back of a plane behind the wheel of a Ford Bronco, I careen over the hilltops of Mexico and I'm instantly taken by the responsive feel of the DualSense controller.
Not only do the adaptive triggers give me tactile feedback as I put the pedal to the metal, but the controller's vibrations change to mirror the traction of the wheels as I hit different surfaces. I really begin to notice how it enhances the experience when the race switches things up and has me speeding across tarmac in the silky smooth Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe.
I've always loved how every vehicle in Forza Horizon 5 feels different to drive.
I love how much shit ppl were happy to talk about Forza Horizon, but now that it’s on PS5, suddenly it’s amazing.
I’ve got news for you - it was always great, and a lot of other Xbox owned games are great too - but nobody wanted to hear it bc dumbass console war bs.
It looks like the PS5 release of Forza Horizon 5 has already added almost one million players to Microsoft’s mammoth arcade racing game.
...just shows how starved for good arcade style racing games the PS fans have been. Just imagine if Sony had not closed Evolution studios. They are sitting on their own open world style arcade racer series... Motorstorm.
Glad they are seeing success from this. The game is one of the best racing games on the market. There are not much arcade racers available on PlayStation so to get a AAA experience is welcomed.
Its a fantastic game.
Highest rated PS5 racer and potentially 2025 game is a Xbox studios title. Who saw that coming a decade ago.
Not surprised. Forza has always been the best in that genre. Playground Games are really good devs. Microsoft was smart to add them to their family of devs.
No shit - but you can’t tell that to fanboys who lost all objectivity. Now the PlayStation crew can see for themselves. Whether they’ll admit it is another story.
