why the hell is this game 1200 points!

I've just played through it. And quite frankly it's amazing. Spend your 1200 points. It's the best game I've played since Portal.

Yemeni Xrats Killer, being that you just joined N4G 13 hours ago kinda explains why you haven't lost your Gamer Zone privileges but don't worry the mods will be "spraying you" to the Open Zone pretty soon.

It was MS's decision to make it 1200 points as the developer was OK with it but would have rather had it be 800 points, but seeing as this was made by only 1 person pouring in time and resources I think 1200 points is pretty fair price.

and I just played this game, and WOW its amazing!!! everyone that can I would highly recommend you play this game.

@marionz: Here's the answer to your question.

Basically this is made by a guy like you or me who paid for this game himself and if he wants to keep making games he has to charge more for Braid.

Bnet3433755d ago

It's getting a lot of good reviews. I am going to try the trial but I don't buy 1200 point games unless they are being expected so ... we'll see.

r2kcipher3755d ago

so this guy can keep making games. his reason for pricing it high sounds valid. but i hope he made the right choice.

this game sounds eerily familiar to blinx the time sweeper.

Superfragilistic3755d ago (Edited 3755d ago )

One level is, and another is like Donkey Kong, and another like Mario... and yet it's wholly unique. Pretty much throws game design rules out the window and wacks a whole heap of gaming commentary subtext into a mind bending, visually stunning, and emotional gaming experience.

Highly recommend it. Although make sure your brain's switched on for this one. ;)

Xi3755d ago (Edited 3755d ago )

I enjoyed blinx quite a lot, at the time the concept was novel and well done, the record and fastforward feature were well done but the game was very difficult, specially with regards to the economy and the enemies and camera. I love challenging games, and ones that make you think.

I'll take you're recomendation and pick the title up. I was saving the extra 1200 points (bought marathon) for the fable 2 mini games, but this game sounds intriguing and I do like to support indi developers. Being bolstered by e3 awards is also enticing.

thanks for the recommendation.

Superfragalistics post is also validating this review so im gonna have to play this game.

Super is it really as good as the cvg review portrays?

Never heard of it untill today wow what a great suprise.

Superfragilistic3755d ago (Edited 3755d ago )

I think CVG places a bit too much hyperbole on it, but I'd agree it's the best game not just on XBLA but PSN as well. It's also an argument for games as art. If you're a gamer who knows their history, you'll love this for its references (particularly Nintendo ones) and its blatant deconstruction of game design. The story, art design, music and brainteasers are pretty exceptional as well.

Only warning is once you beat it and collect all the pieces there's no replay beyond appreciating how great it is or trying to do a speed run. But for the price of a movie its a ridiculous bargain. ;)

Try the pretty expansive demo and see if you "get it". :)

RealityCheck3755d ago

Not at home at the moment, is there a free trial version like most 360 downloads? If so, I'll check it out for sure.

Bnet3433755d ago

How long have you had an Xbox 360? All arcade games have trials.

InMyOpinion3755d ago

Oh h3ll yeah!!!

Thx MS for those 500 points I got the other day. Will be well spent on Braid. I've been looking forward to this for quite some time.
