What a clusterf*ck.... they shouldn't be doing all this before their major release is on its way. Terrible timing overall by Konami.

Roccetarius3328d ago

Just another sign of them not really caring about it.

Mikefizzled3328d ago

Konami being reliably useless again. Giving good reason to boycott their best game 6 months before it releases. Absolute joke of a company.

Ashlen3328d ago

I mean, not buying the game will certainly improve the situation... I'm sure that's what's best for Kojima and Konami. I mean after all there just faking their financial trouble just to spite you personally... they really hate "YOU".

Hey I'm all for Noble causes and stickin' it to the man... But I couldn't boycott a metal gear game even if I tried!

One of my top 3 favorite game franchises of all times, spanning multiple consoles and story lines. I couldn't miss a new one for anything, Sorry!

Mikefizzled3327d ago

Thats exactly where Konami want to be Funk. Metal Gear occupies enough hearts for them to be bullish, get another team to make the future games and it'd still sell. Realistically Kojima and his team could have been getting too big for their boots and running on high salaries. Konami probably realised they could get rid of him and his perfectionist approach and get some cheaper guys in to make a new game quickly.

Xman2K3328d ago

I already seen it, Kojima + R* = R* Japan Studio

Xman2K3328d ago

Kojima has to be jumping ship, why else would they strip his name off everything? Even if he's contract or leaving, his name on the box sells more, so konami doesn't want his name over theirs, he did or is going to do something such as jumping ship

* You mean none of you saw the warning signs with the $30 Demo ?!!!!

Are you kidding me ?

No wonder you people are easily fooled.

Sounds like it's becoming a bit of a cluster Fudge over there right now.

* It's = to going to an Asian Food Court Restaraunt and you " trying a free sample", and then the person working there is like " OK now you pay me $30 for free sample".

Doesn't make sense...

Maybe they had a power struggle over who gets to milk the series in the future and Kojima lost out.

Konami already has a pattern of letting their best and brightest leave without fanfare or even with an actively malicious attitude. Akira Yamaoka just straight up left one day, and IGA had Castlevania taken away from him and made to work on shitty mobile games before being let go without any fanfare.

Konami doing this to KOJIMA of all people, the ONE GUY who's still selling console games for them, is madness. Literally, the guy is the only creator they have working on one of their major franchises. Konami needs Kojima waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy more than Kojima needs them. I give Kojima two months before he either has his own development studio or is picked up by one of the big guys. I would totally see Sony picking him up and giving him his own 1st party studio.

WitWolfy3328d ago

That would be the biggest E3 surprise that Sony could ever announce. Employing Kojima and giving him 100% creative freedom.

I'll jizz in my pants.

chrissx3328d ago

Seems they've got brick brains as top officials at konami, they turned it up a notch.

Dhampir3327d ago

Pretty sure the same guy runs it that started the company. Wouldn't surprise me if they are focusing more on mobile and slot machines.

Since The Contra Revival Shows Konami Still Cares, How About A New Castlevania?

Hanzala from eXputer: "Contra: Operation Galuga is a classic revival done right, but why hasn't Konami done the same yet for the bigger and more popular Castlevania?"

shinoff218330d ago

Slowdown. Let them get these suikoden games done first. Alot of us are still waiting for those

XiNatsuDragnel30d ago

Castlevania fighting game for wii needs to be remade plz

Aphrodia29d ago

well, the new C ontra was made by Wayforward, who have been taking sooooo many of these classic franchises and making new iterations of them. Imo they aren't very good at it. And I don't see operation galuga being a large enough success to possibly give them Castlevania.

I'm guessing OD will also be coming to PlayStation, as the trailer states for all players lol

RhinoGamer8883d ago

Love to know how much he works on a game. 10% effort --- 90% credit

Ever see the credits of a Kojima game? The guy is a machine and does so much for his projects.

Trilithon83d ago

hes a decision maker. people don't always agree. but at least he has made a decision. imagine how many execs wanting the main characters outfit to have flowers cause their daughter likes flowers. this the power of being independent. only the real fans breathing down his neck
