Fist look @ project cars on XB1
Looks really good, very impressed with the number of opponents on the course. Sounds like a good candidate for DX12 for the extra CPU processing. I have no doubt this will support the Thrustmaster wheel/pedal set. Not surprised it's taking some time to complete, there's a lot going on in the game. It's taken 1/1/2 years for a developer to match the 1080p 60fps of the launch game Forza 5 That means the tools and the skills are getting better. Good to see EDIT @ I_love_gaming, it means 3rd party developers are starting to get 1st party results. Cheers EDIT 2 @ Unreal01, take a trip back to November 2013 and read ALL the comments about how supposibly EASY it is to get a racing game to run at 1080p 60fps. I'm suggesting that ALL those comments were disingenuous and a bitter response to what Turn10 was able to accomplish, ergo the 2nd highest rated racing game next to FH2. Try "reading those comments" now that it's 18 months later and no 1080p 60fps racers except F5.
Umm if Forza 5 already had 1080p and 60 fps and so does this game...how does that equal to better tools? This game looks great btw. Thank god for the delay and hopefully this can release in a flawless state for fans. Forza Horizon 2 is something I am more interested in. But the more games the better
@Foehammer Doh! I don't know why I didn't think of that lol
better tools meaning a third party developer managed to get better performance than the typical 900p we often see on the xbox one. not many games manage to hit 60 frames and 1080p on any of the consoles. plus forza 5 didn't have night racing, weather effects and that many opponents.
Previously Slightly Mad Studios said the game was 'slightly less' than 1080p on Xbox One. So I'm wondering if this extra delay was to get the game at 1080p on both consoles for launch?
Drivelub was just a racing game too.... Ohh, did you never think of that? @ unreal, I see the digs at Sony too that you mention, but only when the meds wear off.....
I just hope if it is 1080p on Xbox One, it isn't at the cost of performance in the finished game. Solid 60FPS is more important than trying to squeeze full on 1080p. I'm sure I saw screen tearing in this video, and that means frame rate drops as well. This isn't the final thing, so if they can tidy that up along with any of the AI issues mentioned in the video I'm confident this will be a very smart racer. But let's see.
It has better Tools because it supports almost 3x more cars on track and has Weather and Day and Night Cycle. But Forza 6 might come up with something big too.
this looks so much better than forza graphically
It does. On the one hand, forza5 was very clearly a rushed launch title, while This title has had plenty of time in the oven, and is being developed on an improved SDK. On the other had, Turn10 is a large AAA studio, compared to an independent studio, making a cross platform game. Turn 10 should be setting the bar. Ultimately, I think the lack of development time and the fact that Xbox developer tools were crap explains why Forza5 visuals are nothing special. I'd be surprised is Forza6 doesn't at least look this good. It SHOULD look better.
Honestly I think that Forza simulates materials better, as in metal carbon fiber and glass. Idk that's what I'm seeing
You're right, especially with the weather effects too. Forza 5 wasn't even a completed game. It was obviously a rush game to make launch. Forza 6 is going to blow Forza 5 away. We'll compare that game to Project Cars when it launches this year. Hopefully Forza 6 will be using all the DX12 tools.
i hope project cars will have night racing, day/night cycles and weather unlike forza 5
i think it does dont quote me on that
Did you even watch the video?
Whats with all the disagrees? Are fanboys jealous that X1 can achieve 1080p? I smell a lot of insecure fanboys on this site. Good to see PC achieve what FM5 did at launch.
But still it is sub HD on one whats your point? Oh!FORZA 5 yes i remember you are talking about a different game they released and a different one they advertized due to heavy downgrade that took place to reach 1080p 60fps
curious to see a ps4/x1 comparo
( looking pretty good @1080&60fps here on x1 )
It looks like crap on PS4! (at least according to everyone in the project cars/ps4 footage thread last week.. I thought it looked fine :p. )
Well based off the last footage the PS4 had an insignificant edge to most console gamers, but it was running at a higher framerate. That's all probably gone by now, but the PS4 version might have a slightly more stable framerate, with the XBO having better AO, and the PS4 having some other minor win. Again minor as far as console gamers are concerned.
car models look decent, the environment on the other hand looks so low res. The car physics also looks weird
Looks decent, but have to agree with georgenancy, the game physics look weird. Like the cars are not actually on the track type thing.
The physics look fine. In that view, driving with a controller as is obvious in the clip, you can't realistcally judge them anyway. Real sim enthusiast don't drive in that view. It's way too slow and easier to read the lines, so offers no realism and no real immersion. Darren at Inside Sim Racing rates them as "proper sim" and that's more than good enough for me.
That guy bores the hell outta me, his videos need perking up big time imo
Very nice, great looking weather effects.
Those weather effects look pretty bad...
good to see xbox finally makes it to 1080p at 60fps i dunno about this but is it me or does the reply drop below 30fps? cos i can see dips during replays
not final build but yes I see it.
Yeah, I've noticed that a fair bit on replay videos.
Not sure if serious. Forza runs in 1080p 60fps and looks better than this.
Xbox just requires more optimization thats all
it isnt 1080p
Just hope they keep their word on May release date. Wonder what freebies they'll give out for all the delay?
A bug free game perhaps?
Any one noticed that the car is dry when its raining?
visually it is not impressive
Scenery and lighting look average at best. Only thing that looks really good are the cars.
the aliasing on them (those good car models) is still very poor and unacceptable at this point in console games. DC and the order had aliasing (jaggies) at almost entirely non existent levels. So to see it lining all the models in this game, in tow with its bent, strangely wiggly, low res track outlinings is disheartening and hard to be excited about. shame on the people who stealth disliked us btw. This game legitimately doesn't look impressive.
The weather effects and the ammount of cars on track is amazing.the graphics is ok.I still think drive club is the best looking racer iv ever seen
This footage looks better than what i saw of the Ps4 footage, the PS4 footage had texture streaming issues, pop in....maybe because the Xbox one hardware haves more in common with the PC and since they are working with DX3D on PC and Xbox one the optimization has been better on the Xbox one version.
Looks exactly like every racing sim ever. That being said, I am going to get an oculus and a force feedback wheel to play this.
Looks good, I'm glad this was revealed as I had previously lost all faith in the game. I'm intrigued now, once more. Fingers crossed.
Game looks good. Happy to hear about the on track car count. The lighting looks great as do the cars. Weather is fine, nothing spectacular. The only thing that doesn't look particularly good are the ground textures, grass, rails, walls, etc. They look flat and muddy. Looking forward to the game regardless.
Big mac's have secret sauce, I like them haha I still play and enjoy Forza 5 (only got the game and system at Xmas) I enjoyed Forza Horizon 2 but preferred the first and NFS Rivals. Maybe I'll pick it up again later when it's cheaper.
