A gamer has discovered a bug in the Wii version of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess that makes it impossible to finish the game.
that's just devastating.
ya that's weird, I really like Zelda to!
Luckily I always have two games saves for my games, depending of game ofcourse. But damn you nintendo delaying Zelda for ever, I want to play it on my GC >:/
Bloody hell, there are bugs and then there are bugs! That is a horrible one, needs a patch fast!
I'm not nearly that far in the game, but hopefully I don't run into that problem. I guess I'll avoid saving in any cannon rooms!
Well he's in a room with a big ass cannon. Why not blow his way out? Stupid bugs
This cant be guys someone online has already beaten the game so there has to be some other secret in that room. Maybe you have to block the door way or something cause some kind of avalanche with bombs to block that guys view? Not sure, haven’t reached there myself but I’m very close to that point I’m guessing its near the sky temple portion. I have read online of people giving out advice that already beat the game, check it out on google.
He's just not doing something to get to talk with the guy. It's always something more you need to do in Zelda before the next thing happens
I figured it was something like that there are always times in zelda when you think your stuck and its just something you always overlook just think about the situation and whats available to you. Youll figure it out.
I hate game glitches like that! I went through 10 hours of Oblivion and ran into a glitch that kept me from progressing any further in the game. It was actually very similar to this. Needless to say, that was the last time I played Oblivion. Luckily I was just borrowing the game.
...you're a freakin' idiot. Oblivion DIDN'T HAVE any major bugs....at least none that would kill your progress. In fact, the game is so open-ended, that would really be impossible ANYWAY. Millions of people have spent 100+ hours with Oblivion; for you to play it for only 10, and think you discovered some game-killing bug, is retarded.
Don't be an @ss! I know the game is open ended but if you actually knew anything, you would know that there is a "main quest" in the actual game. There is a fight which has you pinned against 3 monk looking characters in a dungeon. During this fight in the "main quest" I had saved right before the fight occured. During the fight I backed up and exited through the door I came through. I then went back into the room where the fight was supposed to occur. And guess what? No enemies to fight!? Somehow the game progressed me through the fight without actually fighting anyone but it would not let me continue on with the main quest. I then thought that since I saved right before the fight, that I would just be able to go back and do it again. Well, that didn't work either. I was still stuck! Somehow my save file was corrupted as well. So before you start name calling, learn a little. Just because there is no "standard" glitch, small unexpected glitches can still occur beyond your control. I posted this problem in the Xbox forums and needless to say, I wasn't alone in the glitch department. So please just move along!
...every known issue was resolved via patches LONG ago. My wife and I spent well over 200 hours on Oblivion, and only came across one small glitch, which wouldn't let us get rid of the Rock Crusher weapon; that issue was later resolved via patch as well. My point is, you dismissed the game, after only 10 hours, and act like it's some common, game-killing flaw. There was no main quest flaw that prevented you from finishing the game...PERIOD. Had that been the case, Oblivion certainly wouldn't have gotten the critical acclaim...including GOTY honors...that it did. That a few people had an issue, is common, and such issues are sometimes even hardware based.
what a clown he runs about for 15 mins and cant get nowere and he thinks there is a glitch, i remember zeldas always being like that u keep overlooking the simplest thing and realy that is what u are looking for to progress
probably didn't do a save in this room. You should be able to do a save at any point in the game without ruining your progress. There may be other places where saving ruins your progress that haven't been discovered yet. Something like this should never have gotten past QA.
I just can't believe that some of you people think that this is the gamers fault! You can obviously see by the video that he is stuck beyond his control. His heart meter is quite large as well so you know that he didn't just start playing the game. This isn't some sort of puzzle. IT'S A GLITCH! Now, even though it may not be widespread, that doesn't mean that it can't happen.
thinking that this is how all games are with glitch that or glitch this. Most glitches are really user error! Have you played any zelda game? Do you know how many spots are just like this where you have no idea what to do thinking your stuck then suddenly you find a switch you need to shoot at or hit and bam your back in the game. I'm not near the end of the game but this seems like it's one of those situations. It's not all bad it's just you need to think about the game and not just run around aimlessly
I still disagree. Just because the problem isn't widespread, doesn't mean the game hasn't "glitched" on this particular person. Just read my post above and read what happened to me while playing Oblivion. I did nothing out of the ordinary but I was unable to continue the main quest due to a game "glitch". I even went to the Xbox boards and this did not happen to anyone else who posts there. But there were things that happened to other people that did not happen to me. I am obviously not claiming that every game glitches but they do happen sometimes beyond the gamers control.
I see both points here but I still say its user error I mean there are people who have beaten the game so you cant just get stuck. Im almost to this exact point in the game myself. If i get stuck Ill let you guys know and if its something like a switch or event Ill also inform you if I find it.
The little fairy thing kept telling Link he couldn't warp out or transform because there was someone else in the room, when there wasn't. It is a glitch.
wow people like xdm18x are amazingly dumb if you can't comprehend how glitches like this can occur then you shouldn't be allowed to live.. think about it.. he does some little thing no one else did and it triggers this to happen. Use your tiny little brain buddy.
It you look at the footage exactly at 1:47 it has the words speak with the A button. Go to the exact spot on the footage and press A. Its more like the guy is invisible, thats why he wont leave.
I just passed this part of the game earlier today. The problem is that Twilight Princess has some buggy switches related to saving. The only one that has affected me so far is the rupee glitch-- when you save the game, quit, and start playing again, the first time you run into a yellow/blue/red rupee, you have to sit through the "You found a X rupee, it's worth Y! Oh, joy!" dialogue box that pops up, and this happens any time you stop playing and then start again. That is only a minor irritation. This, however, is a much worse glitch, which has effectively ended the game for the poor player. When he saved, quit, and came back in, the in-game switch for actually leaving Shad in the room was off, so he can't be talked to. The switch for recognizing that Shad left, however, causes the game to think that he's still in there, despite the fact that he isn't. So, there's a conflict here, since the game thinks Shad is still in the room, but there's no actual Shad there to interact with. zerolinkgannon, that's good thinking, but the (A) Speak was there because the player Z-Targeted Midna who was sitting on the cannon. He could speak to Midna, but for the reasons outlined here, and in the video, that wouldn't accomplish anything. There's a similar glitch earlier in the game right after the Bridge of Eldin is broken. If you save before entering the Twilight Realm (it's like a two second waltz from the Bridge), then quit the game, when you load your save file, you'll be on the wrong side of the bridge, and unable to continue. So yes, there are some major glitches in Twilight Princess. They could be easily fixed by save file patching to override some of the switches, but that's only if Nintendo released the proper patch to do so. These glitches, however, are, as far as I have seen, only present where people save in extremely odd situations. I'm not saying that it's acceptable for these glitches to exist, just saying that it's understandable how they made it past the play-testers in the first place. The only two major glitches I've heard of would have been bypassed entirely if the person had continued playing for just 30 seconds more. In summary, I feel sorry for the person who put in 25+ hours to get to this point in the game to have a glitch stop his progress. There certainly should have been a bit more play-testing to completely debug the game. Hopefully, if you can get in touch with someone from Nintendo, they can e-mail your console a save file patch to fix you up. Otherwise, good luck on your second trip through the game (assuming you don't just give up on it).
its always the little things we over see....i think he just overlooked something. if others can play to the end...why cant he?
because this game isn't a $*!&ing storybook? what the $%#$ is wrong with you.. the game isn't 100% linear so if he does something like a sidequest maybe it makes the character he needs at that part go somewhere else which $*$&s everything up.. I can't believe so many people here can't grasp a concept that kindergarten students can understand
Cause He's not talking to Midna for more info? Or Destroying the cannon. Trust me its like when i wasted 2 hours in RE:4 Before i knew you had to Snipe Ashley Free by using common sense. Believe me it goes a long way in life.
Well actually I know all to well about software glitches. Im a software engineer and fix things like this all the time. I never said this was definitely not a glich just that I think you need to look around more and rule out all other options (obviously this guy tried by trying to warp out and what not) but I mean the other tools you have available. Maybe you can blow something up I dont know I havent reached that point in the game yet and I stated earlier that I would try to find out when I get there since Im close because the guy that you cant see that apparently stops you is the one that helps you to the sky temple, thats where I happen to be. All Im trying to say is that in zelda games this happens alot where you think your stuck and your not. If you didnt have the head up you A@@ you would know that. Just rule out all possibilites before judgment I havnt been fully satisfied by the video alone that its a glich but you are right that it could be. I just didnt see the need for you to be such a douche about it. whatever.
that was for PS3ROCKS
"I see both points here but I still say its user error I mean there are people who have beaten the game so you cant just get stuck" I'm the douche? Tell me that statement isn't a load of ignorant garbage? I didn't bother reading whatever else you said and I don't really care.
The only thing they showed is Zelda but not a colorful picture in fact so whats the problem that a person can't beat the game....
This is xdm18x I had to make another handle to comment again. First I want to apologize for calling you a douche but you got to understand you were being a jerk right off the bat and it pissed me off but I didn’t have to do it. Second I want to address my statement "I see both points here but I still say its user error I mean there are people who have beaten the game so you can’t just get stuck". I stick by that statement and what I meant before by saying I never definitely said it wasn’t a glitch was based off my previous statement, “Im almost to this exact point in the game myself. If i get stuck Ill let you guys know and if its something like a switch or event Ill also inform you if I find it.” I was trying to say I think its user error but I could be wrong since most of the time when your stuck in Zelda games it is user error, something you overlook. HOWEVER I did reach that point in the game last night. I saved and extra copy before I tested this just in case. AND…. You are right it is a glitch, I can admit when I was wrong. The only way you can get out is to talk to that guy Shan. You have to talk to Minda a few times, walk around, then talk to Shan again and he will leave then you can warp out with the cannon. When I saved in that spot and reloaded my game Shan was gone and I was indeed stuck, I thought maybe he was invisible but not intangible and if I could z-lock onto him where he should be I can talk to him and get out but to no avail. SO, word of caution, do not save here ever they were right it is a glitch. I’m going to see if I can save my data to my SD card and rip it to my computer (I have it saved right after I warp out the cannon to Hylia Lake). If I can I would be glad to share it with any one who is stuck and didn’t have an extra copy of their game and would ultimately have to restart the game. Ill let you know if I succeed. Again to PS3ROCKS I apologize for my anger but try not to be a jerk off the bat everyone is entitled to their opinion we don’t need to belittle each other. Thanks …
"Maybe Cause He's not talking to Midna for more info? " Noobs
i have tried saving at boths points and i didnt get stuck (saving after the the bridge falls and in the cannon room) just thought id let you all know...btw....friggin kick A$$ game
It isn't the action of saving the game that screws you over. It's saving the game, then resetting the software. Regardless, like I said in my previous post, those are both very awkward places to save your game, and an additional 30 seconds of playing in both instances will eliminate the chance of you having to restart your game. In any case, I agree. Zelda is by far the best video game I've played in a long time. I finished it earlier today with 100% completion, after about 52 hours of play. I'm a bit irked that it didn't reach the 70+ hour mark that was being hyped, but the game itself is so good that I'm willing to forgive Nintendo for slinging around inaccuracies.
