Artist Lu Cheng Leaks Concept Art for “The Evil Within” Video Game [Extended Brofist]

The Evil Within is an upcoming survival horror game that is being developed by a Japanese studio named Tango Gameworks and will be published by Bethesda. While it has not received a release date yet, someone obviously wants players to get a sneak peak of what they will be encountering before the game hits stores sometime in 2014.

I'm wondering if this is some kind of Resident Evil knock off. Not saying it doesn't look fun, just that it doesn't look very original at this point.

yeah the video looks EXACTLY like RE.
I still think it'll be a good game, I was also very surprised with how similar and unchanged it looks. (guys slowly climbing out of windows then walking slowly with a raised arm before stopping after they get a certain distance, and the chainsaw guy has the same mechanics with the same decapitation death scene regardless of your character's orientation to the chainsaw guy, which looks dated.

You're aware the main guy in charge of the game did Resident Evil, though?

Well the guy behind The Evil Within created the RE series, so he's allowed to be a bit unoriginal in that department. :D

I do like how some of the artworks are reminiscent of Raccoon City (particularly the train one and the cemetery one).

I don't mind the parallels being drawn between resident evil and evil within. If they can go back to the slow horror of RE 1 and 2 it's not such a bad thing.
