First Assassin’s Creed III DLC Pack Now Available

Following the launch for Season Pass holders earlier this month, Ubisoft has today released the first downloadable content (DLC) pack for the critically acclaimed Assassin’s Creed III, The Hidden Secrets. Now ready for download on Xbox 360 and Windows PC, The Hidden Secrets DLC will be available later this week for PlayStation 3. This first DLC pack will release for the Nintendo Wii U at a later date. (Assassin's Creed III, PC, PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360)

Only an hour's worth of content in a whole DLC pack? I personally don't think that's very good. I know there's skins too but let's be honest no one really buys skins (unless you play LoL).

Kinda glad I traded my copy in while it was still worth $30 and got some other games. Don't get me wrong, AC3 is great and a decent length. But there really isn't much replay value and apparently the DLC isn't that good, either.

Depending on how much value you get from the side missions and hunting there is tons of replay value...and the fact you sum up this newly released DLC and future DLC without ever touching it as not being very good is very short sighted in its own right. Easily 30 hours of gameplay is beyond decent not counting the DLC coming out plus the multiplayer.

It is a GREAT game. I preordered it for Christ' sake. Just saying that after you play it for a while and you get to stuff that's like "go to the top left corner of the frontier where there are NO fast travel points. Then spend the next 30 minutes going back to Boston. Okay, now back to the hardest to reach part of the frontier!" it can get a little frustrating. Then again, even other great games (like the end of Red Dead Redemption, anyone?) can have tedious parts like that. It just got a bit frustrating for me.

And in no way did I say the DLC would be bad. the King Washington concept is intriguing. I was just talking about the length and value is all.

The length of ones playthrough always differ from player to player..whenever I hear a certain amount of time I always look as it as that person not taking their time...as long as you have an expansive world it should take time to get from place to place...why would a developer make this world without requiring the player to explore it. Might as well make it linear if you could fast travel everywhere. But to each his own.

I owned the game for a month and played it for a fair chunk of that time. So trust me, I explored and got my money's worth out of it. You have to admit that certain parts of the game were travel to A, cutscene telling you to travel to part B on the other side of the game, do something there for 10 minutes, travel back to A. ANY open world game has missions like that: GTA, RDR, etc. I just found some of those in Assassin's Creed 3 to be a little tedious.

But anyway, absolutely none of this has to do with my original point: DLC's value will be different in everyone's eyes. Short DLC is fine as long as it's quality but there comes a point where DLC -packs- (which are usually kinda pricy) can be too short. We have yet to judge AC3's DLC but in my eyes an hour of gameplay for the price point is cutting it a bit too close.

Edit: the speculation is that the standalone pack will cost $8.
So, $60 game = 30+ hours of gameplay, good deal!
$8 DLC = 1 hour of gameplay?
That, my friend, does not compute.

Does anyone know if all the hidden secrets pack items are in the Freedom Edition?

I know at least 1 is in it but I am not sure if all of them are or not.
