Bethesda would "be crazy not to release" Prey 2, the game's lead level designer has stated, following rumours earlier in the year suggesting that the open-world sci-fi shooter had been canned.

I agree. I was so pumped for this game! Maybe they were afraid 1313 was going to steal the thunder somehow.

Really? I personally believe they pushed the game back to aim for next generation launch with new goals in mind.

I pretty much have to agree with the article and everyone else posting here. Prey 2 looked and sounded both ambitious and entertaining in a way few games are. I always hoped it went silent for next gen and maybe even as a launch title just as the original Prey was. It's just one of those games that is still "around" even though rumored to be delayed/cancelled/shelved and hope Bethedsa picks it back up and let's them finish it.

Even old videos make it look more fun than half of the FPS out there today. The whole futuristic/sci fi bounty hunter vibe was great.

I just really doubt a title like Prey 2 will be changed into a next gen launch title. The game needs as many potential buyers as possible to sell well. It looks like a great title for sure, but having a title so far in development switch to next gen would cost them a lot more than it already has and just wouldn't get the sales it would get on this generation if consoles. Would be a costly and pointless move imo.
