What Is Your Gaming Shame?

GR: "I've already said on the podcast that I've never beaten a Metal Gear Solid game. I've also never beaten a God of War title. Most of my shameful inexperience comes from the fact that I didn't own a PlayStation console until the PS3. The same can be said of my short-comings in PC gaming experience." (Culture, PC, PS3, PSP, Wii U, Xbox 360)

I mildly enjoy CoD and Angry Birds. The shame!
Foolsjoker  +   584d ago
You mean that you don't actually play games, you just watch Youtube videos with a PS3 controller in hand.
alexcosborn  +   584d ago
That would be me...

Guilty!

Easy:

I never finished a GTA game, never played San Andreas, Hated GTA4 (not even 10 minutes playing the game).

Every time I see Gears of War, I think of The chain blades from Warhammer.

I think Sev from Killzone sucks because he's a back-stabbing, two-faced hypocrite (Rico told him to tell Narville to wait and he didn't, Sev told Rico to try to obey orders but when Sev was sick of following orders he disobeyed, but in the end Rico was right [when they took down the MALR]) and I love Rico because he has the "S" on his chest but he's human at the same time, he makes mistakes, but he mans up to them.

Haven't liked a Mario game in years; I sometimes call Mario fans Marionies (like bronies).

Thought resistance 3 was the best graphically out of it's series, but overrated in terms of story direction.

Thought Halo 3 was overrated too.
Halo 4 was the best graphically of it's series, too but it is also overrated.

Loves Uncharted, but thinks Drake's image is cliched.

I never won a Rock 'n' Roll racing game against real-life opponents EVER even though I played over 200 races.

I think Ratchet an Clank are probably the best character duo out there in gaming today, then Chief and Cortana, then (ironically) Sev and Rico.

almost threw SotC away until I took a final stab at it and beat it within 24 hours easily.

Didn't play GoW until the PS3 was almost out.

Almost broke my Demons' Souls disc in two because my 60Gb PS3 failed... never brought it in to be repaired in hopes I can repair it and finish the game. Bought a slim instead.

I have 46 days on CoD games online, 72,000 gamerscore, 16 platinums with one of them being dark souls. those are my shames :'(
pangitkqb  +   583d ago
I spent $20 last week getting gems for Clash of Clans on my iPad. Never thought I would do that.

Final Fantasy games don't interest me, but it's such a recognized series I feel like they should and am always afraid my nerd-cred will drop by admitting such.

I own a high-end PC gaming rig...and am worried I can't figure out how to replace the graphics card. (I've done it before, but this is more complicated than my old computer.)

I consider myself a loving PlayStation fan, but strongly dislike how the God of War series plays - even though I appreciate the excellent visuals and tech behind it.

I swore I would never pay for Xbox Live again back in 2010. In 2013 I may break that promise.

I own at least 30 games I haven't played for more than two hours each. (Mostly downloaded titles on consoles and a bunch of titles on Steam.)

My only shame is that I am not good enough online to ever get 10,000 kills playing Resistance 3 online to get my Platinum trophy.
Dark_Overlord  +   584d ago
You mean Resistance 2 (God that trophy is a grind) :)
ftwrthtx  +   584d ago
You are correct. I did actually get my Plat on R3 but still need 9000 kills on R2.
ThichQuangDuck  +   584d ago
I never beat Shadow of The Colossus got to Colossi 13 and stopped on PS2. Got the game for PS3 and dont have a PS3 yet(was on sale). Really though in Shadow of colossus stopping is winning
Dark_Overlord  +   584d ago
My gaming shame? I have more games than I can physically play and so some sit on the shelf indefinitely :( Although I don't want devs to stop making good games :D

You're a good man, a good, rich man.

I've been there off and on for a long time. I'm thinking about just buying chrono trigger over and over until square enix does a remake :)
Foolsjoker  +   584d ago
I have a growing backlog of games that haven't even been opened yet, but I keep buying more.
George Sears  +   584d ago
I still have Max Payne and Arkham City GOTY in its plastic cover.
Awesome_Gamer  +   583d ago
Start playing them mate, both are amazing.
Gigglefist  +   584d ago
I've spent over 300 hours on Dark Souls >.>
This, and the fact that I really like the Lego games...

My gaming shame is that I'm not a fan of Half-Life 2. I don't dislike it but I also don't see its greatness. I feel bad that I don't "get it"... makes me feel like less of a gamer.

I was too poor to get a good PC so I bought the original Xbox version of HL2 so I could play it on my 360.

It lagged and had terrible loading times, so I gave up. I think I will fall in love with the game if I just buy that damn Orange Box.

You are not alone. Everyone talks about it and I have to quietly slip away.
DomceM  +   584d ago
im a pc/ps3 gamer and i never cared for half life. you are not alone.
Rask  +   584d ago
Same here. I got a lot of games on Steam and Origin, and a few PS3 ones, that a bought months ago and never played.
Tone  +   584d ago
Mine is buying every console , handheld under the sun and building a kick ass PC but hardly play anything due to working so much... can't help myself.. old habits die hard!
dbjj12088  +   584d ago
It will all be there when you retire. :)
KangarooSam  +   584d ago
Buying every must have game (usually 10-15) when I get a new console, playing them all for a few hours each, then only finishing new games I buy. My backlog is way too extensive.
GenHero  +   584d ago
downloaded FF7 on my psp, got passed the 1st reactor and never touched the game since.
KangarooSam  +   584d ago
Bought it for my Vita, got out of the city, haven't touched it since lol.
cpayne93  +   584d ago
Did the exact same thing lol. I still plan to play through it eventually but I just haven't found the time.

havnt played bioshock(i know im terrible)
i like bloodrayne
played every prince of persia game more than 5 times non stop, in a row
cpayne93  +   584d ago
You don't need a good gaming rig for half life, even my crappy computer can run half life 2.
BuLLDoG909  +   584d ago
my biggest gaming shame is right now,... because i cant think of anything to be ashamed of.., im so embarrassed, DONT LOOK AT ME!!

My Gaming Shame.

Have had 4 360's they all RRod on me so i got another when gears 3 came out.

I buy new games for my ps3 or 360 and then only play them once or twice then just go back to pc or i just buy them for the multiplayer.
soraalam1  +   584d ago
All of you will disagree, but I mildly enjoyed Sonic 06.
MasterCratosKong66  +   584d ago
Same, and I wish they would refine Silver the Hedgehog's character and give him his own game.
VsAssassin  +   584d ago
I sway my nephew into asking his father (my brother) buy non-mature games that I like so that I can just borrow them when he's finished with them. Note: He can finish a 10-hour game in one sitting and never touch it again!

I know I'm cheap like that! Hahahahaha!

havent played a metal gear solid game even though I own pretty much all of them (twin snakes and MGS collection)
TiberusX87  +   584d ago
I've never played Mario 64...
No FanS Land  +   584d ago
There I said it: I think FFXIII is Goty material!

On a serious note: I know I'm going to need to skip games in 2013 if I want to buy a DSLR and straight up a little bit!
urwifeminder  +   583d ago
I hardly finish any games i loose the vibe and move on.
Dovahkiin  +   583d ago
I think everyone does this, not every game is good enough to warrant enough of my time to finish it.

If I do finish it, I know I've enjoyed it and it's been a good game.
mochachino  +   583d ago
I much prefer overly sexualized female characters...in appearance only though, not personality as that often makes for bad acting or one dimensional characters.

If games can have perfect female bodies, why not? All the guys are ripped.
Eazy-Eman  +   583d ago
I've never beaten any of the Legend of Zelda games :(
But I will soon!
IRetrouk  +   583d ago
I played that avatar air bender game for an easy 1000 gamerscore, it can never be undone :-(
BanBrother  +   583d ago
At least you didn't say Hannah Montana. You haven't have you O.o ???
IRetrouk  +   582d ago
Lol no i stopped achievment whoring years ago

My gaming shame is that i want to buy Black Ops 2 for the single player campaign, ive always secretly enjoyed the COD games (both studios) for single player. I am determined to fight it this time around (well up until the price of the game better reflects what i want out of it) damnit im making excuses already
sourav93  +   583d ago
I enjoy CoD, but pretend that I don't, and so agree with the CoD haters. I say I prefer BF3, and I really do. But I suck at it compared to CoD, so don't have as much fun. But I always try and back with Battlefield.

I quite liked Busby the bobcat : Claws encounters of the furred kind (Megadrive/SNES). I think that most people who don't like it are just impatient because it's not easy to steam through levels like Sonic the hedgehog.

I thought that Blinx : The Timesweeper (Xbox) was a flawed but still decent game because it looked so nice.

I probably wouldn't have a Wii in the house if you gave me it for free because it's unacceptable to me that Nintendo have not really creatively evolved since the Gamecube (perhaps Super Mario Galaxy and Super Paper Mario excepted) and they could at least have made it HD to make up for that. The WiiU is essentially what they should and probably could have released instead of the Wii.

In my past gaming history, most of the games I've played were pirate copies or played them through emulators with roms.

I actually thought Crysis 2 was a better game in general than Crysis 1. The sandbox was limited this time, but everything else -especially the presentation and story- was improved dramatically.
