Windows 8 seems like a slick interface and a nice OS to use, but the more I read about it, in regards to games, the less likely I feel I will ever upgrade. The latest batch of news is pretty depressing. New reports are stating that any game rated PEGI 18 (including titles like Skyrim, Dishonored and Mass Effect 3) will not be allowed in the Windows 8 store.
Linux is far from being the answer on the desktop.
This "report" is just referring to the Windows Store, NOT the games store. Two very different things. The app store is centered around applications (and some casual games), while the Game Store will cater to all options of PC gaming. This age rating restriction is designed to prevent porn and/or sex apps from being submitted to the Windows Store.
Also this does stop you from using Steam or Origin for PC gaming either. I am using Windows 8 now and find no issue with it. If you can't buy a game through the App store, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Like Steam or Origin.
Have some common sense about you before jumping to every worse conclusion.
