ProductReviews: It’s fair to say that PS3 users are not happy at all with the Dawnguard situation for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Bethesda had originally stated that PS3 users would get it 30 days after Xbox 360, but it is now coming up to a full two months without Dawnguard and there’s still complete silence from Bethesda.
Earlier on this week we toyed on the idea of Xbox 360 users getting an announcement on Hearthfire, the next rumored pack, before PS3 users even have a chance to play Dawnguard. We received some very interesting feedback for sure which you can read through yourselves here, but some additional details on Hearthfire have arrived and it once again threatens to make this a reality for PS3 owners.
Update MOD NOTE: The title is very misleading. Essentially, a forum user suggested giving PS3 users Dawnguard for free, not that Bethesda has ever said any such thing themselves. It's just a forum member who made the suggestion.
Complete silence? Really? August 2nd, 2012:
""We are not satisfied yet with Dawnguard's performance on the PS3," said Bethesda on the company blog. "We would like for everyone to have a chance to play Dawnguard, but we aren’t going to release it for PS3 knowing that some people’s experience in Skyrim will be worse. We do everything we can to have our content available to all; from our free updates, to user mods, to paid DLC. We’re as disappointed as our fans when that isn’t the case, but we’ll continue to push for that reality."
I fucking hate journalists that don't know what the fuck they are talking about!!!!!
Zenimax are the ones that decides the prices of bethesda games. Todd Haward has even said that he thinks game-prices are too high.
rsion of Skyrim everyone else got it two weeks ago what's going on?
I think the reason Dawngaurd isn't coming or out on PS3 yet is because issues with the engine. Bethesda just didn't do a good job with optimizing it for PS3, and adding DLC prob. causes more issues and headaches, and the backlash isn't worth it to them.
They say its bugs but the Xbox version has its fair share of problems as well as patches getting released simultaneously on both platforms.
Everyone knows Bethesda doesn't like PlayStation. And MS giving them money for timed exclusive DLC made it "Sweeter" for them.
I dunno why they're not releasing it for you guys.
Skyrim is having problems on all platforms.

Then treat all your customers equally and don't announce release dates until you've actually tested it on all platforms to a working standard.
Re: those who will say "why hold back people because of the PS3's issues?"
Because it's not actually the fault of the PS3 and the issue is with Bethesda's long-used engine and their inability to update it to be bug free on any platform let alone working as intended on the PS3. Issues that don't come up on other game engines used to develop third-party games across the same platforms.
The only thing you can do is whine, bitch and complain non-stop until you start to actually interfere with the on-goings of their business.
troll harder next time

I'll eat my shoe on youtube if you can bring me proof of this.
I got Skyrim, so I made the mistake of supporting a company that obviously doesn't care about half of their fanbase. I won't make that mistake again.
I'm putting my PS3 aside for a while, now that Guild Wars 2 is coming out! So I won't be getting Dawnguard anythime soon, if ever...
FIX THE VANILLA GAME!
WIth every release they break the game more, reduce the draw distance
and jerk around ps3 owners while we play their broken beta of skyrim
For a title that was supposed to be goty it's really a pos.
Have you even played Skyrim? Its a massive open world RPG with descent graphics - Uncharted and God of War are very liner compared to Skyrim so of course they are going to less bugs on those games.
Xbox users aren't to blame for PS3 owners not receiving DLC, blame Bathesda, fu**ing fanboy.
Following a paragraph I found mentioning said release on Steam, a Bethesda spokesperson said that the Playstation 3 version was delayed because, "We are not satisfied yet with Dawnguard's performance on the PS3." Figured I'd let those who have a PS3 know ahead of time.
But my personal side note on that quote: Really? It's been how long since the initial announcement of Dawnguard and even then the 30 plus days that Microsoft had it exclusively? What I'm saying is, if Skyrim can be released to all three platforms at the same time, why can't Dawnguard have been released like that as well?
Oh, that's right, Microsoft called dibs and everyone with a PC and PS3 had to wait. Yeah, that's a smart business practice right there. Bethesda has no clue how many PS3 customers they are going to lose now. And before anyone comments, yes, they did say that the Xbox 360 would have it exclusively for 30 days before being released on the other platforms.
It's never stopped em before. Fallout 3 & Skyrim ran like crap on the Ps3 yet they were "satisfied" enough to release the broken abomi,,, er game. If you ask me that "satisfied" comment is just a sh*t excuse to not tell us the worse news that's to come.
*3 months later*
Bethesda: Timed exclusivity is up. Here's your late broken dlc Ps3 owners. AND at full price, enjoy.

They won't be getting any money out of me until they properly change their engine, and since in all likelihood we won't be seeing another game by them until next gen, we can only hope we've seen the last of that terrible engine. Although I wouldn't put it past them to try and use it again even next gen. pfft.
pop-in, screen tear, jaggies, bad shadows, corrupted textures, I get none of that on pc, my buddy plays on the 360, he loves it but he has had tons of issues, the framerates bad, the pop-in is atroucious, the load times are long
this is a pc game, where moddders can tweak the game for years to come
a new elder scrolls game is like a new operating system, it takes a whole community to find and work out all the bugs with all the possible varibles out there, and of course, with mods and a giagantic community of forums, the pc is the best place for that, on ps3/360, you just gotta cross ur fingers and wait for the dev to fix it for you
look at dark souls on pc, released with the horrible console res of 1024x720, in 23 min a modder fixed it, you can now have 4K textures downsampled to 1080p, lol....freaking amazing
heres the console version of dark souls, upscaled by the ps3 to 1280x720;

here it is after one guy spent 23 min on a pc fixing it;

If its more powerful then that would mean that the tech is more powerful which will require extra work.
If your a mechanic and someones bring you a Ferrari and a Honda Civic both with engine problems which one do you think would be easier to fix?
DON'T BUY ANOTHER GAME FROM THEM UNTIL THEY LEARN!
Yet time after time we let developers get away with more and more bullshit.
Valve brought a real bad version of Orange Box to PS3, they didn't even make it themselves. Then they asked and got help from the Sony team and really started to work on the PS3. They ended up really understanding the system and loving it which resulted in a great version of Portal 2. Valve turned around on the PS3 a 180 degrees because they took the time and effort.
This is the route Bethesda should take or they will have complaint after complaint for their PS3 versions. It's up to them.
Valve brought a real bad version of Orange Box to PS3, they didn't even make it themselves"
First of all Valve did not bring the Orange Box to the PS3 as you stated this was all EA's doing and Valve names just appears on the credits because the own all those ip's.
" Then they asked and got help from the Sony team and really started to work on the PS3."
Valve did not ask Sony for help - Sony offered Valve help but Valve declined and hired some PS3 programmers on there side - Valve stated many times that the reason why left 4 dead 1 and 2 were not on the PS3 was because they did not have enough staff.
Where they heel do you get your facts from?
But one could hope, my friend brought Dawnguard for 360 and has left his 360 with me to play it. I'm already bored with it seeing how I have beaten the game about ten times on the 360.
