An interesting take. Honestly, any game can be improved with UGC but I think as the author suggests, Nintendo can benefit from it.

Nintendo will not entirely benefit from it. Look at Sony (LBP being the major example). Despite it being a major part of the game and there are some fantastic levels, UGC is often a feature over looked by many. Should Nintendo do it? Defiantly I think a lot of games need UGC.

Nintendo play their IPs pretty close to the vest. You can bet that they won't allow for user content that strays too far from their image.

Woulf it be nice? yes.
But it won't happen because nintendo is paranoid that if tey let user's do this they will only play that game and not any future sequels (a level editor in nmsb wii would make it possible to make levels JUST like levels from NSMB2 and U in example)

ugc is great, just a simple level editor on mario would make every mario fan to buy the game.

only problem is people like to create offensive/copyrighted content. nintendo will never allow this. how many penis themed stages woulld mario get?
